Give me a mountain or give me a mat, I’ve found two loves that have love me back.
It's hard to beat flowing down the mountain on my bike, or hitting the perfect takedown to break an opponent in wrestling - I believe this feeling is commonly referred to as being in the zone; creating a sense of wholeness and strength.
A moment where you and your focus are perfect in harmony, pushing up mountains or scoring the takedown - there’s a freedom felt in this full body awareness.
During my bike ride after work I rolled up to a few dog walkers and their pets while yelling “coming on the left,” everyone moved except for one little pup. I jokingly forgave the dog for not moving when asked before the owner replied slyly: “maybe you should learn to speak dog.”
While I laughed and rode on pondering her statement I couldn’t help but agree. If I were to speak dog and communicate to the critter I bet he would’ve generously obliged in moving over.
My point here is many times we are misunderstood simply because of a breakdown in communication. Learning to speak the language of others goes a long way in helping create a bigger, more balanced experience of life. No one person’s experience will ever be the same, so communication is key - imagine a world where we’re all understood.
I enjoy living in a van, peddling up mountains, and wrestling because they help take me out of my cluttered mind to remain in the present - just as any skilled passion will do.
I find life between the bubbles in a place beyond comfort zones; I’m alive and thankful so I like to give my all to become the best that I can during this masterpiece known as the human experience.
Break free from the masses and see yourself rewarded! Happy New Year! Happy New Day! Happy New Moment! Happy New You!
